MS Word - Cursor stuck as a grab hand

Headshot of Craig.

Craig Wright

Are you working on a Microsoft Word document and you're stuck because the cursor has become a hand? It's super-easy to fix.All you need to do is press the Esc key. That will switch the cursor back to the regular pointy selection cursor. Why does Word change to the hand cursor in the first place? I'm not sure. Some posts I've read seem to suggest it is a compatibility issue with plug-ins, but others say it is one of those oh so lovely Microsoft quirks.I experienced it in an older version of Word (2010) in a Windows environment, and the Esc key fix worked immediately. Hopefully, it does the same for you.
